There is a presentation from Ken Seiling, Chair, Regional Municipality of Waterloo followed by a discussion.
Space is limited. Here is the link to reserve your spot CLICK HERE
FREE ADMISSION – doors at 6:30 pm with the talk to start promptly at 7:00 pm.
Ken will discuss the challenges of meeting transportation demands as cities expand and the rationale behind Waterloo’s choice to pursue LRT. Following his talk, there will be an opportunity for those in attendance to tackle the transportation planning and concepts necessary for city expansion and how Hamilton might succesfully create a great system for its citizens. Some of the topics to be addressed include,
What transportation choices are currently available to municipalities?
Does Hamilton share similar problems as those identified by Waterloo? Does this call for a similar solution?
What other transportation options are available to us?
These, as well as other topics of inquiry arising from the presentation will guide our discussion for the evening. We also hope to have a discussion on how to knit together a coalition of the willing for any infrastructure project, large or small, that crosses multiple neighbourhoods and whose benefits may not be directly enjoyed by all.
